Formation
The formation of the Ramseyer Singing Band dates as far back as 1923. The late Mr. A.K. Adinkra, a lover of music and a few others started the group with the backing of the then District Pastor, the late Rev. C.E. Martinson to sing during worship/church service.
Through their dexterity and the grace of God, the group has braced through all odds to the point it finds itself now. The group has composed a number of songs over the years. Notable among them include ‘Nkunimdifo Nyame’, ‘Yaanom, Yaanom’; ‘Ndowntofo Anigye’ among others.
Activities
Over the years the contribution of the group to the church, the district and the presbytery cannot be overemphasized. From 1953 when it join the Asante Presbytery Singing Band’s Union, it has remained committed and a force to reckon with.
Through voluntary contributions, the Band has been able to purchase a complete set of musical instruments which is used in propagating the gospel in neighboring villages.
Membership
The Band can now boast of Fifty-four ageing members who are still active with nine executive members overseeing the affairs of the Band. Looking at the current crop of members, the Band aims to launch a membership recruitment drive soon to get more of the youth to join.
