As usual their intention of improving singing during worship or church service which they did diligently and effectively were vehemently opposed by the elders of the church as not Presbyterian-like.

Nevertheless, in July 1932, the choir was inaugurated with a total membership of twenty-five. From that time to date, the choir has though a lot of transitions and changes. All these have helped the main singing group in the church.

Activities

Since 1968, the choir has played a leading role in the formation and growth of the Kumasi Church Choir Unions. Although the core role of the choir is to propagate the gospel through songs, it has also found itself renting into other economic activity which is generating adequate income to the church and group.

On the advice and active support of Rev. Ohemeng Boakye the then District Minister, the choir and Women’s Fellowship were able to acquire a Wafer Machine from Germany for the production of Communion Bread. Despite the initial difficulties encountered, the production of the Wafer has now become a great asset to the church.
