Preamble
Prayer is a form of spiritual bombing to saturate an area before God’s army of witnesses begins their advance. Prayer is the barrage to drive back the demon hosts which are determined to stop the triumph of Christ. Prayer is the invincible force which breaks down every opposing wall to open every Iron Gate and every fast, closed door. Prayer penetrates every curtain of darkness. Prayer demolishes every fortress of hell. Prayer is the every bastion of darkness. Prayer is the all conquering, invincible weapon of the army of God. Therefore Jesus, our victorious captain lives to intercede. By Dr. Wesley Duewell.
Formation
The Ramseyer Bible Studies and Prayer Group was founded in the early 1930’s by some ambitions youngsters who are in the process of performing their duties and training the Sunday school members develop a praying spirit and dedication to meet regularly and pray.
This receives a strong opposition from the elders of the Adum Church who claimed they were introducing foreign practices into the church. Nevertheless, these youngsters persevered and after undergoing a period of training at Abetifi organized by the late Rev. T.A Kumi between 1962 and 1965, the group was adopted into the mainstream church groupings at the 37th synod held at KNUST on the 30th of August, 1966 through the muting effort of the late Rev. S.R Ntifofo. Among founding members include Mr. Theodore Oppong and Mr. E.K. Hennor.
Achievements
The Ramseyer Bible Study and Prayer Group, through their daily meetings and muting role has been able to train a lot of Ministers for the church. Also some of its members have grown into matured Christians holding important roles in the Presbyterian Church.
Currently, through the group’s evangelical zeal it has been able to establish new congregations in Ejisu-Asawasi, Besease, Essiemimpong, Feyiase, Akyaw Krom, Stadium Kyiransa, Brofoyedu among others.
Membership
Presently, the numerical strength of the group stands at hundred and five out of this number 76are females and 29 males.
Meeting Days
The group meets every Tuesdays and Fridays at the church premises between 5:30-7:30pm. Also, the group organizes Friday morning prayer meetings.
